Progress Being Made on Various Provision Building Projects

Posted: 1/23/2023

Main Office Expansion — In 2015, when Harmony Country Cooperative and Central Wisconsin Cooperative merged, we were very cost conscious. We took a former convenience store building that had been closed due to a DOT frontage road project on the west side of Marshfield and converted it into the main office for ProVision Partners Cooperative. Since then, ProVision Partners’ sales have expanded from a $100 million to $272 million annually. Needless to say, we’ve outgrown our original office.

However, your cooperative is still cost conscious. Instead of constructing a whole new office building, we’ve opted to add a large storage room/meeting room and four offices to our office building. Workers constructed this addition over the summer of 2022 and completed the job in September.

Hixton Feed Mill — Workers excavated and laid concrete foundations for the new Hixton feed mill in May. Construction of the mill is underway with the steel structure of the building currently being erected. We’re estimating the mill and its feed manufacturing capability will be up and running by the end of December 2023. See “Positioning Your Company for the Future” in our Fall 2021 magazine for more on the new mill which can be found on our website.

Central Wisconsin Country Store — When CWC brought its Marshfield country store to ProVision in 2015, sales totaled $1 million. Today, annual sales total $1.8 million, and the size of the store limits its growth. This summer, we added a 2,500-square-foot warehouse space and added a loading dock to the Central Wisconsin Country Store. The project was completed in October.

Hixton Chemical Shed — Likewise, the small size of the chemical warehouse built in the 1980s at the Hixton Agronomy plant, is limiting both growth and efficiency. To remedy this, we’re currently constructing a new 50’x 80’ warehouse scheduled to be finished by spring of 2023. We will use the current facility for all of our liquid nitrogen and liquid starter products, in addition to two 15,000-gallon storage tanks. The new warehouse will be large enough to house all of our equipment, in addition to a chemical pad, bulk chemical tanks, and a chemical storage area.
