Hixton Feed Mill Construction Update

A lot has happened since construction began six months ago on our new Hixton Feed Mill. The new 100,000-ton capacity mill will be located next to our ProVision Partners Cooperative grain and agronomy facilities in Hixton, WI.

This past month, concrete was poured where the feed mill equipment will be installed for receiving feed ingredients and load out of the finished feed products. Most recently the core deck was installed, so they will now be able to pour the concrete which will create the ceiling of over the basement. Once the concrete is complete, backfilling around the building will begin. Equipment continues to arrive daily as it has been for a while now.

“We are excited to have this new, state-of-the-art feed mill which will allow us to better serve customers in our western and southern regions with a full line of diverse, customizable products and services. The new feed mill will feature 32 overhead bins (1000-ton storage), 12 loadout bins for mixed feeds  (250 ton), 2 mixing systems (one for bulk feeds and one for calf and heifer feeds), and a bag feed warehouse. It will be equipped with automation software and equipment,” commented Rob Larson, ProVision Partners CEO and General Manager.

“As we continue to look forward and build on our growth, the Hixton Feed Mill was designed with the future in mind,” said Larson. “The mill is being constructed with expansion capabilities for additional warehouse, overhead bins and additional commodity storage.”

Construction is expected to be complete the end of 2023.
