Wildlife Food Plots - Lush Feed Promotes Horn Growth and Fawn DevelopmentIn farm country, the deer follow the farmers. The deer know what they want and when they want it.
Late Winter/Early Spring: Wildlife increase feeding activity. They find natural springs & forage areas where plants are greening up or have stayed green under the snow. These plants have higher calories, proteins and mineral content.
Early Spring/Summer: Wildlife eat the most tender, best tasting forages/plants and leave the rest, unless there's nothing else. Once farmers take off their alfalfa or clover crop and the cut plants start their new growth, the deer take full advantage of high calories, protein and mineral.
